Seasonal Rides

"If you are in town all summer, this is your best bet!"

Seasonal Rides are classes that take place once per week throughout the summer (June-August). Participants sign up for the season, and for that summer, they will ride with the same kids and the same coaches. Kind of like a team.

There are, NO drop in riders (unless previously discussed with coaches). This ensures that the group's ability level is consistent, which promotes a very safe environment. Secondly, the group as a whole can progress technically, physically, and ride a wider variety of trails. Finally, as with any team environment, long lasting friendships are established.

Please note: These classes are limited to 13 kids per class. Register early, classes DO fill up!

The Seasonal Ride breakdown is as follows:

Pee Wee: (6&7 year olds) Basic trails, safety, and riding techniques (turning, braking). These rides are 2 hours long.

Beginner: (8&9 year olds) Single track trails, safety, basic mountain bike techniques (climbing, descending, obstacles, proper fit, etc.) Some mechanical techniques (seat height, take front tire off, minor adjustments, etc.) These rides are 2 hours long.

Intermediate: (9,10,11 year olds) Single track trails with various obstacles, longer climbs and descents. Safety, trail etiquette, intermediate riding techniques (steep climbs, steep descents, step-ups, speed, etc.) Mechanical techniques (repairs, flats, derailleur, headset, etc.) Nutrition. These rides are 3 hours long.

Advanced: (10,11,12, 13 year olds) advanced single track riding with multiple obstacles, long climbs, advanced descents. All riding, mechanical, safety, etiquette, nutrition and fitness aspects are explored. These rides are 3 hours long.

Downhill Programs: (Rides are more skill and equipment based, rather than age, however, most riders range in age 10-15 years old)

  • All riders must be strong mountain bike riders with at least 2 years of riding experience.
  • Advanced DH participants MUST have DH style bikes, full body armor and a full-face helmet.
  • Most rides are lift assisted and take place at Deer Valley.

Adventure Co-Ed: (11,12, 13 year olds) advanced single track riding with multiple obstacles, long climbs, advanced descents. All riding, mechanical, safety, etiquette, nutrition and fitness aspects are explored. These rides are 3 hours long.
